1955 ARIEL RED HUNTER 500 SINGLE (PROJECT).
US IMPORT
This motorcycle, re-imported from the USA in May 2016 has so many good original parts it will make an excellent project for restoration.
The 500cc engine provides an additional edge over the smaller 350 Red Hunter. It has the genuine chronometric speedo; Altette Horn; Headlamp Nacelle and other original features. It would seem that some parts have been involved in a fire (i.e. cylinder head; gearbox) but it is hoped that there will be spares available to the restorer - maybe via the excellent Ariel owners club or the specialist spares suppliers.
It forms the current stock at Totnes Classic Motorcycles. (tel 07812 809029). It comes with a USA title and HM Customs and Excise NOVA certificate registration number, confirming that all the Vehicle Post Clearance Checks are satisfied. (ie. Taxes have been paid). When registered it will qualify for Road Tax exemption.
Please bear in mind this machine is over 60 years old and requires a thorough restoration.
